The practical training and courses offered by Security Blue Team require our analysts to not only learn the concepts through classic reading and reference material, but also apply them in a challenging capstone project which emulates a real network security compromise. This methodology helps Fortra ensure that our analysts have a consistent education with sufficient hands-on training to competently approach many of the complicated scenarios which they are likely to encounter, whilst providing profound expertise to our customers during security incidents.

Security BTL1 is the most relevant, fun and practical security training our team has done in years. It's hands-on and relates directly to the work we do each day. BTL1 builds on our analysts' existing skills, while broadening their skillset through exposure to digital forensics and an alternative SIEM. I see it as an ideal starting point for new analysts, and a good base certification for all members of the SOC, with a clear path for further professional development and recognition through BTL2.

A while back, we transitioned to BTL on a broad scale, moving away from a somewhat outdated education system that we had been using for years. Our analysts are overall very happy with the change. The elements of the test and practical labs are a breath of fresh air, and definitely more stimulating than our previous solution. BTL is clearly built on actual SOC experience and helps our new employees onboard quicker as it introduces scenarios that are closer to the real thing. Highly recommend!
